Nuubia Chocolat – Development

Nuubia Chocolat contacted Glue Digital to assist with the development of their website and shopping cart system. The design and brand were previously already created and provided by Suzanne at Rooland.

Glue Digital was engaged to develop the “back-end’ and store functionality of the website. The site was built using WordPress and WP Ecommerce for ease of use and administration for the client. It was customized extensively to match the design and branding provided.

The essential requirement in this project was to ensure the end product matched the design perfectly, and yet was fully functional.

Glue Digital spent a lot of time initially to ensure the requirements and scope of Nuubia Chocolat were fully understood. We wanted to ensure that the end product was successful in terms of sales, but also allowed the team at Nuubia to do what they do best and create great chocolate instead of getting tied down in the administration of a website.

The site was developed on Glue Digital’s client server to ensure minimum impact to the current live site. The WordPress and WP Ecommerce framework were used, and custom functionality was built around the ‘Offerings’ page to allow for easy management in the future. The end product was the creation of a custom plugin that integrated with the shopping cart.

A registration system was customised and integrated for the different classes and events that Nuubia holds through-out the year.

Full training was provided via video screencasts so that Alexandra and the team at Nuubia could manage the sales and site administration without needing to engage a web developer each time.
